I would like to host a 3 day event in the future, but I am unsure of the format. Are the events going to have three separate classes (dressage, cross country, and stadium jumping) that are added together to get the final placings? Or are they going to be simply one class (ex. Training level) that are placed?
I know this has been discussed before but I am still unsure, thanks!

Sorry it took me a while to reply here If you have a classlist you'd like to use for the three day eventing, I lost myn when my computer class and I'm not sure if it's posted anywhere here on the board.. if it is, use that one! lol Here is a quote from the rule book about 3-day events: 6.4.5 Three Day Eventing Regular points will not be allowed for divisions. Final placings will allot points as follows: + 25 points | Champion of Group (level) + 23 points | Reserve Champion of Group (level) + 21 points | Third of Group (level) + 19 points | Fourth of Group (level) + 17 points | Fifth of Group (level) + 15 points | Remaining Top Ten of Group (level) + 10 points | Remaining Competitors So that means that entrants should enter by division. They will recieve a placing in each class (dressage, cross country and sj) but will only be awarded points for their FINAL PLACING IN THEIR 3-DAY DIVISION. That's why the points awarded in this division are so much more than those awarded with most classes

Okay that makes sence. This is the classlist I found which Nicole posted I believe:
Novice Training Preliminary Intermediate Advanced CCI * 3-Day Event CCI ** 3-Day Event CCI *** 3-Day Event CCI **** 3-Day Event
Do you think we should add Beginner Novice? Most events have this level as it is the first recognized division. It maxes at 2'9'' for show jumping and cross country. Novice usually maxes at 2'11'' which is kind of high for first time event horses which are still green especially with the cross country. I am just curious, does not really matter to me either way.

Well, I think we had a more detailed classlist but if you want to go ahead and run an event with that list for now that's fine The more events the merrier
