So I suppose we will be getting onto this one soon, but do we want to use the auction for 2009 foals or for 2008 foals? My 2008 foals aren't "born" yet (late babies) so I'm not really partial either way.
Since this is sim, I believe that it could be up to the stallion owners and the verband to set limits such as 2009-2006 foals being born out of the semen used. We all create horses that are 2-3 years old at some time anyway, so why not?

Sounds good. I've been working on the auction site while doing the others. It is good to have some up and coming young horses. Maybe the we should set the age limit for stallions no younger than a 2003 foaling year (that way they can have 2006 foals).

I agree. I feel we should allow foals from 2006, 2007 and 2008 to be born from these stallions.
I would like to see as a condition of the service auction (for the stallion owner's piece of mind and to encourage continued activity) the foal must be inspected at the next Foal Inspection, but this is something we need to discuss more.
Once again, a reminder that everyone participating in this association has a voice and we want to hear it. Don't let us go making rules you don't understand or want to put up with.

Sure, I don't mind Maybe even sell off embryos for approved mares? I don't have any inspected and approved animals myself, so I would be more interested if I could buy both a sire and dam (custom foal!) at the auction than if I had to provide one of the parents. Unless that one parent could wait to be inspected & approved till the next time around or even the foal an unshowable crossbreed, of course.
